Russell Bundy(alto sax)

Russell Bundy is from Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA. He has been playing saxophone, flute, and clarinet for over 30 years.

Russell attend college at Greensboro College and University of Alabama at Huntsville, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in music performance jazz emphasis. He also received a master’s degree in jazz studies at University of South Carolina. He has also studied with Neill Clegg, Don Aliquo, Bert Ligons, Vincent Herring, Dr. Clifford Leaman, Bryson Borgstedt, Marshall McDonald.

Russell was part of the United States Army Band for 20 years before retiring in Japan September 2020.  He has performed all over the world, to include Germany, Korea, and Japan.  He is currently an active musician playing with small groups in a wide variety of styles in Sagamihara, Yokohama, and Tokyo areas.


Russell is married in Japan and has 2 boys who love to play soccer.  If he’s not playing music somewhere he’s going all over Japan watching his boys play soccer.
